Serial Mobile Phone Thief Apprehended in Kano: 890 Mobile Phones Recovered
Law enforcement in Kano state has successfully apprehended a serial mobile phone thief, recovering a staggering Eight Hundred and Ninety (890) mobile phones from the suspect.
According to a statement released by the police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the arrest followed a public outcry received from Dansulaika GSM Market coordinators in Farm Center, Kano. On August 24, a group of unknown individuals broke into eleven (11) shops through the roofs, stealing mobile phones, desktop and laptop computers, cash from sales, ATM cards, and various accessories.
A dedicated intelligence-led operation was launched, leading to the capture of Ibrahim Adamu, residing in Sallari Quarters, Tarauni LGA, Kano. Adamu confessed to the crime and guided the police to the recovery of One Hundred and Six (106) mobile phones, Nine (9) laptop computers, a sum of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty Naira (N115,940:00) in sales money, Nine (9) ATM cards, and other related accessories.
Upon the completion of the ongoing investigation, the suspect will face charges in court for his actions. This significant operation has curtailed the activities of a notorious mobile phone thief, providing relief to the affected shop owners and the community at large.
