NDLEA Spokesperson Denies Arrest of Late Singer Mohbad

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) spokesperson has vehemently denied claims of arresting or detaining the late singer Mohbad. Addressing the controversy surrounding an alleged raid on the Idado estate home of Marlian label artists earlier this year, the spokesperson clarified that Mohbad's name was not on the list of individuals arrested during the operation.

In a recent statement, the NDLEA refuted the reports that circulated in February 2022, asserting that they had detained Mohbad and several others. The agency provided the names of the actual individuals taken into custody during the operation, confirming that Mohbad was not among them. The listed suspects included Oniyide Azeez (Zinoleesky), Owoeye Michael, Abimbola Ogbe, Dominica Chinwe, Olaolohun Shubomi Mariam, and Ibrahim Alawo.

This revelation comes in the wake of online speculation suggesting that Mohbad may have been poisoned during the purported arrest. The NDLEA spokesperson urged the public to refrain from spreading false information and affirmed that Mohbad had never been under arrest or detention by the agency. The NDLEA called for responsible reporting, emphasizing the importance of accurate information and adherence to the truth in such sensitive matters.
