Suspected Hired Gunmen Fatally Shoot Osun State PDP Chieftain in Wife's Shop

Tragic events unfolded in the Ada area of Osun State as unidentified assailants, believed to be hired assassins, took the life of Dele Agboola, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On the night of September 14, 2023, Agboola was fatally shot by three men posing as customers seeking to purchase medicine at his wife's shop in Pako Area, Ada.

The perpetrators struck as the 42-year-old, affectionately known as Agbo, left the shop to return to his residence. Minutes later, after briefly retiring to his home, Dele revisited the shop to retrieve his mobile phone charger. It was at this point that the assailants approached him, confirming his identity before firing the fatal shots.

Eyewitnesses recounted the tragic event, revealing that the attackers swiftly fled the area, causing panic and chaos among onlookers. Despite the swift response from security personnel, Agboola's family members resisted the immediate removal of his remains, stalling an autopsy process.

Kehinde Adeleke, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun State, confirmed the incident and assured ongoing efforts to apprehend the culprits. The local community remains on edge as authorities intensify their investigation into this distressing act.
